I bought this as a second landline phone for my mum. My mum is elderly and sadly has dementia. I bought her one of these phones to have on her bedside table. She can use it just fine because of the nice big buttons and it straightforward. Before I got these phones she had a cordless one but she would forget to turn off the phone meaning we couldn't get in touch with her. I recently got a second phone to have downstairs because she can't hear the other one ringing. The reason these phones are ideal is because they are simple, there's only one way the reciever sits on the cradle & the buttons are large. My mum uses them without any issues. I recommend this phone plus it's excellent value for money.

Its cheap, and it feels cheap when you touch it. But it makes calls ok, and is clear in use. The ringer is loud, and i couldn't see a way to adjust it even thought the instructions mention it, but this isn't an issue for me as its installed in a family members house who needs the extra volume. For under £10 not bad.

All I can say is be sure to note how it fitted in the box, you'll need that to return it The black unit comes with a white cable. The cable clicks into the top of the phone and can pull out with little resistance. Wall mounting is a joke, there is a tiny lip to clip the handset onto - it simply falls off - the cable 'prises' the unit off the wall so the tight fit at the top is about 10mm at the base. Forgetting the intended wall-mounting option, I plugged this directly into my bt socket, no adaptors/filters etc, I got an annoying hissing instead of a ring tone, if I moved the handset about the hissing was replaced with a crackle; it simply did not work It was delivered 20 minutes ago, it is on its way back

This really isn't something you wold want in your home. It so light and the cord short that when you pick up the handset the rest comes too. It claims to have a volume control in the scant instructions, but it doesn't. There is also an annoying hum on the line that isn't there with other hand sets. It gets two stars just for being cheap and filling a gap, it will hit the bin very soon.
