Does the job okay, handset cord is a bit short, but good value for money.

Your worst nighmare
This is positively the worst phone I've ever bought and I wish I'd gone to Argus instead. It is very diffifult to pick up. The cord between the phone and the receiver is WAY TOO SHORT and forces the user to adopt a very uncomfortable position. The instructions are very difficult to understand. The sound of the dialing and ringing tones are harsh and too loud (even on a minimal setting). I had problems entering my account number using online banking because each time you try to enter a digit there is a deafening CLICK, which prevented the number being recognised. If you have an enemy you really despise, send them one of these phones. TWO MORE THINGS I HATE ABOUT THIS ROTTEN PHONE. 1. If you happen to unplug the phone because you don't want to be disturbed, you'll find that when you plug it back in it will have FORGOTTEN any settings you have made, so you'll have to start again from scratch. 2. The cheap keys have only got numbers on, so if Virgin Media ask you to press the key that has the 3rd letter of your password, you'll need to have a proper phone nearby to refer to. Talk about Amateur Hour...

I bought this for my mother who has arthritis so can't use small fiddly buttons. She also is hard of hearing and has difficulty using a handset. A landline phone is a lifeline for her. She's delighted with this phone. She says the ring of it seems less loud than the large format BT one she had before but the hand's free mic feature means that she can hear her caller much more clearly. It took me a long time to find a sturdy large format phone with the needed features as my mother is 95 and doesn't understand all the bells and whistles on other available models - for that matter, I wouldn't want them myself. The other thing we like is that it has a certain heft and doesn't easily slide about or fall on the floor as many flimsy models do. A great, plain, no nonsense phone. Mother is delighted with it.

Excellent value desk phone. Lots of good features, and very easy to set up and use. I am a blind customer, so accessibility is very important to me, and this model fulfills this well.

In an age where complex electronics may be packed into any communication device (look at your smartphone), this desktop corded phone is refreshingly old-school. It doesn’t need a wireless connection to the internet, has no Bluetooth option and simply works through a telephone cable. It memorises contacts and will build a simple database for you, but it’s not essential to deploy even that if you just want a simple dial-up phone. It has big, chunky buttons which are easy to see and use in poor light, or if you’re visually impaired. It has a loud ring tone audible throughout an average-sized house, and a connection cable just the right length. It has a good hands-free loudspeaker if you want to use that. During the next few years, it is planned to remove traditional copper landline cables to rural communities and replace them with fibre-optic cable which is likely to offer a clearer and more reliable signal; this phone will work with them, too. Every home should have one (or two), if only as a standby when the modem fails or goes offline for whatever reason. I recently did a 2-hour live interview on air using this phone, at the insistence of the radio station (Coast-to-Coast a.m.) because, in the age of zoom and streamyard, they found an old-fashioned landline to be 100% reliable and failsafe.
