Great for blocking nuisance/scam callers. If I had any criticism, it would be the caller number scrolls too rapidly to read straight away. It either needs to scroll slower or be smaller so the whole number is displayed (or options for both). In every other respect, it's an excellent call blocking phone with large digits and fairly straight-forward operation.

We've previously used a Siemens Gigaset system for our home but found that its features were poor quality and difficult to use and having decided not to go down the route of VOIP, we looked around for a simpler DECT system for the four rooms the phones are installed in (we bought a 4th BT4600 handset as we were so pleased with the system). The plus points are that we able to setup and individually name all 4 phones within minutes and there weren't any problems with them connecting themselves to the base unit. Keypad is nice and large and the display clear and easy to read. Sound volume and quality on hands-free are quite good. I don’t have hearing problems so can’t comment as to whether it is good enough for someone who is hearing impaired. Size and weight we found to be ok but the size may be a little large if you have small or weak hands but that's the compromise for big buttons and display characters. Menus are fairly straight forward. Perhaps not perfect, but certainly better than many phones. The two big features of this phone we really like and have found extremely useful. First is the nuisance call blocker. It's simple but we've found it be quite effective in stopping nuisance callers. Quite simply if the callers telephone number isn't in the phone's directory, they will be asked to identify themselves. When you answer the phone, you get to hear what their response was. If you don't trust the caller then you can simply reject the call. Simple but effective enough to put off the spam caller. It won’t stop a robot caller but as a robot system can’t identify itself when asked and it won’t be able to press the # key it’s not going to get very far. Second. At bottom of the handset is the ‘Record’ button. Press it at anytime to record your conversation (records both parties voices). Negatives. This phone doesn’t have any means of transferring data to/from your PC, such as your contacts list. Handy if you want transfer your Outlook contacts or to use your own music files for ring tones. Limited choice of ringtones. The callers telephone number scrolls around the screen making it impossible to read. If the caller isn’t in your phone directory, then at least you can see the area code they’re calling from. As a footnote. Some reviewers have complained about the sound quality and the display. I wonder if they know that there is actually a menu option to adjust the tone and also one for display settings!!!

The call barring system is amazing!! My service provider dropped the ball and listed my number after decades listed ex directory. Despite trying to get this resolved, I was informed to change my number? I've been receiving constant nuisance calls to the point we don't even answer the phone, literally driving us crazy! Well since purchasing these phones, it's been life changing, with the press of a button we selected call barring and now if the number calling is not stored in the phone under VIP, the incoming call is screened, prompting the caller to leave a name or number followed by # only then will you be notified there's an incoming call and only then if you want to receive or reject it! - couldn't be any easier - no cost - no number change - No nuisance calls 👍🏻😊 It's certainly a game changer for us and couldn't be more satisfied. I've included a few photos of the phone and a brief copy of the features. It might be a bit bulky, have a plain design, and not boast any particularly striking visual elements. Its functional and practical, a workhorse rather than a showpiece. It prioritizes functionality and performance over design and visual flair, but we love it!

I got this phone because I was fed up of getting unsolicited phone calls and I can say 100% that it works on that front. Apart from this function and the answering machine it’s pretty basic and doesn’t really do anything fancy which is fine for me. If your a techno geek it might be a bit too basic for you. So easy to set up that although I glanced the instructions I didn’t really need them. The phone is large as are the buttons which was what I wanted. The battery lasts long enough on standby, a good few days. Not sure how long it will last if your on the phone constantly. I rarely use my phone other than for receiving calls so can’t attest to its longevity for making and receiving long calls. The price on Amazon is good as i looked around and it was more expensive with other sellers. The only let down is the speaker which is not great even on its highest setting with the amplify button. It’s usable but not the best. Which is disappointing given the other pluses and the price. To ensure you want your callers to get through to you there are 2 ways to facilitate this. You either enter your welcome callers number into the phone book so that when they call you the phone will ring immediately your end or wait until they call, the phone your end will not ring until the phone automatically asks the caller to announce their name, once this happens you in turn will be notified of the caller if you know who it is and want to accept the call you can accept if not you don’t accept the and caller can’t get through to you. That aspect of the phone is brilliant as cold callers don’t tend to leave their details and will just drop the call. Its brilliant and I can’t recommend enough from that point of view. Once you’ve finished your accepted call you can just add the caller to your accepted callers list in the phone book. Equally if somebody dies get through by chance, which hasn’t happened to me yet, just block them with the big block button at the top of the phone. It’s as simple as that. In conclusion I’d say get it if you don’t want anything fancy but want those darned cold callers to leave you alone. I hope you found this review helpful
