I don't ask much of a landline these days, lets face it, most of the calls are scams and cold callers, but I still have to pay for the land line in my TV package, so in that case, I will keep my landline active. And this Alcatel ePure Premium is such a stylish way to keep a land line, that I almost feel guilty that my phone is kept on a windowsill in the hallway. I absolutely love the retro styling and the pixel clock, and would be happy displaying this in a more prominent location if the cord into to my house allowed it. Of course, in the couple of weeks I've owned this, no people I know have called, but I have tested it myself. I love the concept of VIP ringtones that I can set up for my favourite people, and I am really pleased with the way you get a clear indication of who is calling, with the name displayed on the base unit, even before you pick up the phone. That way I can ignore callers with strange numbers even without going through the trouble of setting up any call barring. Faced with the current reality of boring black slab mobile phones, its really nice to bring back some style and personality to phone calls.
