Bought for my elderly mother, to replace a (not quite as elderly) BT Converse amplified phone that was starting to become unreliable. For the price (around 30 quid) it is a good option, and has certainly been useable for my Mum. Plus points: Good amplified handset, with well thought out volume control (volume for handset is only visible when you lift the handset, avoiding confusion with the speaker volume control) DEFINITELY a big-button phone! Caller ID works well (I'm using it with a Cisco VoIP device, so it isn't hard-wired to only work with BT CID) Seems durable, and the large "I'M RINGING" LED bar is a good feature. Minus Points: Only 3 direct call buttons, and only 30 entries in the dialling directory (good as long as you don't have too many friends), also very limited name field, as well as the usual difficulty in entering letters via a number-only keypad... Other than the direct call buttons, the dialling directory is a bit counter-intuitive, and not very conducive to an elderly mother who thinks that TV channels numbered greater than 5 are "the work of the devil". Basically, for me, the dialling directory is only of use to put names to caller-IDs Ringer could be louder (other residents may disagree!) - only 3 settings for ringer, and one of those is "off"... Speaker-phone isn't wonderful, especially at the volume levels required if you NEED an amplified phone. Volume control for it is well hidden too... Overall though, it does what we need it to, and it didn't break the bank.

Bought this for my father who is older and experiencing mental decline. He has lost 2 mobile phones in the past year and so decided to get a landline installed with this phone so it stays in one place. It's simple, easy to use, ringer is loud, and there is space to write 3 phone numbers on the phone itself so perfect for our situation.

Since the BT phone systems changed to digital internet, I tried several phones that could work but did not! This is the only one that has! Excellent phone in every way. Great ring, sturdy, clear for the elderly to use and reliable.

Overall a quality phone as one has come to expect from Doro. Very useful for someone with temporary or permanent hearing loss. Generally easy to use once set up without being entirely "idiot proof"; some help may be needed for setting up single button calls etc. Two controls for increasing volume which might cause a little confusion but very useful nevertheless. Small points ; the cord tends to twist in common with similar phones and the lower part of the handset can quite easily slip from the cradle when touched. BUT this remains an excellent device with large buttons and ease of use for older people in particular. Note other Doro models with presets that photos can be attached to - a better choice for memory-loss users.

This phone has one major flaw. The three ringtones sound awfully cheap but more importantly are too quiet, far too quiet for the elderly. There are three volume settings for the ringtones and the loudest setting is equivalent to the lowest volume of my old phone. Another flaw is if you wall mount the phone. The speaker grill for the ringtone is at the back of the phone. When it is wall mounted this further dulls the sound to the point where you will easily not hear the ringtone a few rooms away. I like everything else about the phone, it is very easy to use but the low ringtone makes it useless for the elderly.

I bought this phone for my elderly parents. It has a nice large keypad and the sound quality when on the phone is very good I was quite surprised. I programmed the contact list phone book for them but it's not too difficult if you don't have anyone to do that for you. The phone also has 3 fast dial buttons to programme your important numbers that can then be dialled by using only one button without having to look for them in the contacts list. Whilst there is no answer phone there is a light that will flash to alert you to a missed call for example you may be in the kitchen and not hear the phone ring. The only slight moan I would give is that the LED display could be a bit brighter but it's not too much of a problem. I would recommend this product its a nice phone at a reasonable price.

We tried others - (I.e. Future-Call - poor quality). Finally paid more and got this via England. Arrived promptly and works well. Came with a European jack for the wall, but substituted in a 'normal' wire and it works fine. Ring tones adjustable. The black buttons with white letters work well for my Mum.

Mia madre anziana si trova benissimo (e non ama i cambiamenti) ha la fibra e non ci sono stati stati problemi. Ha l'opzione che fa vedere il numero che ti ha chiamato (Tim) e con questo telefono si vede senza problemi e configurato ha anche un led che te lo dice. Suona forte e si sente bene! Ottimo!

Es ist nicht das erste Telefon diese Herstellers (DORO), dass ich bei mir im Haus im Einsatz habe. Ich bin von diesem Produkt begeistert. Für den Privatgebrauch ein optimales Gerät. Robust und einfach in der Bedienung (Konfektionierung), kurz gesagt "narrensicher". Bei neuerlichen Bedarf werde ich wieder auf diese Produkt zurückgreifen.
